You could always store bytes in a FoundryDB Files bucket. Now you can watch them. Files usage monitoring is live, and it turns a bucket from a place your objects go into something you can actually observe: watch a bucket grow after a launch, wire a live usage widget into your own app, or alert on a storage trend before it becomes a surprise. See how much you are storing, what it costs, and how that has moved over time, in the console and, just as importantly, through the API, the SDK, and the MCP server.

App Hosting started by putting your app next to your data: a container on a dedicated VM, served over HTTPS, attached to your managed databases over a private SDN with credentials injected as env vars. The launch post hinted at where this goes next, "more than one app talking to a shared set of databases," and that is exactly what shipped.

Two features this round. First, an app can now attach to another app, not just a database, so a frontend can call an internal API entirely over the private network with no public exposure and no credentials to manage. Second, every deployment revision now records a deploy log: the ordered steps the platform ran to roll that revision out, with each step's status and duration. Here is each one.

OpenSearch SQL is familiar, but Piped Processing Language (PPL) is often better for log analysis: its pipeline syntax maps naturally to how you think about filtering and aggregating event streams. Each | stage narrows or transforms the result set from the previous one. This post runs five PPL queries against a 200-document structured log dataset on a live OpenSearch 2.19.1 cluster managed by FoundryDB. Every number below is from a real query.
